JOB DESCRIPTION: Must have Tank Car Experience!
Custom Job Purpose:
Plan, direct, or coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications. Oversee functional departments.
Tasks
•Direct or coordinate production, processing, and shipping/receiving activities of organization.
•Review work orders for accuracy.
•Disseminate work instructions, quality procedures and other information to lead liners.
•Train and evaluate staff and/or resolve personnel grievances.
•Schedule shop and field projects
•Review processing schedules or production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
•Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
•Develop or implement production tracking or quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, or other operational reports, to detect production problems.
•Set and monitor product standards, examining samples of raw products or directing testing during processing, to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality.
•Prepare and maintain production reports or personnel records.
•Coordinate or recommend procedures for facility or equipment maintenance or modification, including there placement of machines.
•Initiate or coordinate inventory or cost control programs.
•Institute employee suggestion or involvement programs.
•Maintain current knowledge of the quality control field, relying on current literature pertaining to materials use, technological advances, or statistical studies.
•Review plans and confer with research or support staff to develop new products or processes.
•And other duties as assigned.

As a Tank Car Shop Foreman, you will oversee the daily operations of the tank car maintenance facility, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and safety standards. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will utilize your core skills in project scheduling, budgeting, and construction management to lead a team effectively. Your premium skills in software such as ProCore and Primavera will enhance project efficiency, while your relevant skills in blueprint reading and quality control will ensure high standards of workmanship.
