Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the facility’s Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with standards such as ISO 9001 (or other applicable certifications).
  • Develop and enforce quality policies, procedures, and work instructions specific to rotational molding processes.
  • Oversee inspection and testing of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
  • Analyze quality data (scrap, rework, defects) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to improve product quality and process efficiency.
  • Manage customer complaints, root cause analysis, and corrective action responses.
  • Conduct internal audits and coordinate external audits by customers or regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of inspection and testing equipment.
  • Train and mentor quality staff and production personnel on quality standards and best practices.
  • Monitor supplier quality and work with vendors to resolve material or component issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting systems for quality metrics and KPIs.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or related field (preferred).

Experience:

  • 5+ years of quality management experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience in plastics or rotational molding processes strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record with quality systems and continuous improvement initiatives.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of rotational molding processes, materials (polyethylene resins), and tooling.
  • Experience with quality standards such as ISO 9001.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone/Ishikawa diagrams).
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis.
  • Experience with quality management software and ERP systems.
  • Understanding of testing methods (impact, thickness, leak testing, etc.).
