            NOW HIRING – PERMITTING MANAGER
    Conroe, TX
    Pay: $65,000 per year
    Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
   Extended hours as needed (including evening Board meetings – 2nd Tuesday of each month)
 
        POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a strong, experienced Permitting Manager to oversee permitting and field operations staff while working closely with upper management to ensure accurate permitting, documentation of groundwater use, and compliance with rules and regulations.
This leadership role requires critical thinking     , transparency     , strong judgment       , and the ability to identify problems and implement effective solutions. The ideal candidate is organized     , proactive     , and capable of building and maintaining tracking systems to ensure operational success.
 
       ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
      Supervise and oversee Permitting staff
      Communicate with well permit holders regarding compliance issues
      Review and process well applications, amendments, renewals, and pumpage reports within database
      Monitor enforcement and non-compliance
      Draft correspondence and verify reports
      Interact with the public (in person, virtual, and written)
      Ensure daily reporting accuracy for permits and allocations
      Assist in presentations to public supply entities
      Help implement and refine rules and identify procedural gaps
      Field public calls and assist at front desk
      Demonstrate strong leadership and collaboration skills
      Manage multiple deadlines with strong time-management
      Assist with monthly Board packet preparation and Notice of Hearings
 
    POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred (may substitute with equivalent experience)
 
Required Experience & Skills:
      Minimum 5 years of management experience
      Excellent written and verbal communication skills
      Strong organizational and research skills
      Advanced computer skills (Word, Adobe, Excel)
      Project management experience
      Data entry experience (minimum 50 WPM typing)
      Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (when necessary)
      Professional demeanor with ability to work under pressure
