Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Welder specializing in MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding to join our client's dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for repairing metal components with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will contribute to high-quality manufacturing processes, essential to meeting production deadlines. This position offers a great environment where your mechanical knowledge and welding skills will drive success and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG welding on various metal components, including sheet metal, ductwork, and structural elements, adhering to project specifications and safety protocols
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute fabrication tasks
  • Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to shape and assemble materials
  • Conduct quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to ensure precise welds and fit-up
  • Follow ASME codes & standards for welding procedures and fabrication quality assurance
  • Assist with rigging, pipe threading, assembly, and mechanical tasks as needed on construction sites or manufacturing floors
  • Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials while adhering to safety guidelines

Requirements

  • Proven construction site experience with a strong background in welding and fabrication processes
  • Proficiency in MIG welding; experience with FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) and TIG welding is a plus
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
  • Familiarity with welding techniques relevant to the role’s projects
  • Experience working with sheet metal, ductwork, piping, or structural steel in construction or manufacturing settings
  • Skilled in using calipers, micrometers, hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment
  • Knowledge of ASME codes & standards for welding practices and safety compliance
  • Mechanical aptitude with basic math skills for measurements and calculations
  • Ability to operate forklifts or other heavy machinery is advantageous but not mandatory
