Press Operator
Job Description
We are currently seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Press Operator to join our industrial manufacturing team. This role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining mechanical and/or hydraulic press machines to produce high-quality parts and components according to specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate press machines (manual, hydraulic, or mechanical) to form or shape metal and other materials
- Set up equipment, including loading dies, adjusting settings, and aligning materials for each production run
- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy using measurement tools such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, or production schedules
- Perform routine maintenance on press equipment and report malfunctions or safety concerns
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and safety standards
- Log production data and ensure accurate recordkeeping
- Assist in other areas of the production floor as needed
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous experience operating press machines in a manufacturing environment (1+ years preferred)
- Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read blueprints and use standard measuring tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with progressive dies or CNC press machines
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices and safety protocols
- Forklift or overhead crane experience a plus
