Job Description

Job Title: Chemical Process Supervisor

Job Overview: The Chemical Process Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of process technologies, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant production processes. The role involves leading a team of Process Technologists, driving continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance, and acting as a key communicator between various teams within the organization.

Key Responsibilities: Technical Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Process Technologists and oversee their duties.
  • Lead and coordinate Non-Conformance investigations, implement corrective actions, and ensure follow-up on action items.
  • Optimize and troubleshoot existing processes using quantitative analysis techniques to increase efficiency and resolve bottlenecks.
  • Supervise the commissioning of new processes and modifications in line with MOC/PHA requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance during Management of Change (MOC) activities.
  • Participate in management meetings focused on production and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Plant Supervisor to create and maintain batch procedures.
  • Develop training materials and coach production personnel on new and existing technologies.
  • Lead and participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) for required plant processes.
  • Participate in process incident investigations as necessary.
  • Engage in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) activities when required.
  • Act as the communication conduit between Research & Development (R&D) and production teams.
  • Ensure all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards and goals are met or exceeded.
  • Promote a safe work culture and actively contribute to its development.
  • Submit work orders as required and ensure maintenance of production schedules.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Environmental Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with regulated plant areas as outlined by the Regulatory Compliance Manager.
  • Proactively identify compliance and regulatory issues before the scale-up of new processes.
  • Manage product packaging and empty container handling in line with established plant procedures.

Regulatory & Safety Measures:

  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and procedures throughout production activities.
  • Participate in emergency response drills and ensure team preparedness for unforeseen events.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Successful completion of tasks within established deadlines.
  • Scale-up success rate.
  • Chemical nonconformance rate.
  • Effective communication and collaboration across teams.
  • Attendance and completion of safety training requirements.
  • Compliance with HQ safety and regulatory standards.

Required Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational behavior management.
  • Proficient in technical troubleshooting.
  • Expertise in process technology and process improvements.
  • Project management skills.

Required Knowledge:

  • Solid understanding of environmental and regulatory laws pertaining to the chemical manufacturing industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of chemistry and chemical properties.
  • In-depth understanding of engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with Process Safety Management (PSM) practices.
  • Knowledge of Management of Change (MOC) processes.
  • Experience with Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) methodology.

Required Experience:

  • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Minimum of 2 years of production experience (5 years preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant STEM field (required).
  • Master of Science degree (preferred).

Competence Profile:

  • Education/Qualification: Minimum 4-year STEM degree or equivalent, Master of Science (desirable).
  • Experience: At least 2 years of relevant production experience; 5 years is highly desirable.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
